Prisma Community Care is seeking a part-time Medical Director to serve as a Supervising Physician for Physician Assistants (PAs) and to be available as a clinical resource to our team of Nurse Practitioners and other providers. This is a remote, non-clinical leadership role with no direct patient care responsibilities. The Medical Director will ensure clinical oversight, support provider education, and contribute to a collaborative environment focused on safety, equity, and quality of care.

The Medical Director supports the Prisma Community Care mission of providing affirming and inclusive services to promote well-being and advance health equity for diverse communities and all those seeking compassionate care - especially people of color, 2SLGBTQIA+ and Queer individuals, and those affected by HIV.

What your day will look like at Prisma Community Care:

  • You will serve as the designated supervising physician for PAs, meeting state regulatory requirements for oversight and availability.
  • You will be available for consultation by providers regarding clinical questions, complex cases, or escalation of care needs.
  • You will provide clinical guidance on protocols, care standards, and evidence-based best practices, especially in areas such as HIV treatment, PrEP/PEP, and Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT).
  • You will support the onboarding, training, and ongoing mentorship of providers, ensuring alignment with organizational values and care standards.
  • You will participate in the development and periodic review of clinical protocols to maintain culturally competent and evidence-based care.
  • You will provide input on quality assurance initiatives and review documentation or clinical decisions when necessary to support high standards of care.
  • You will assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements as they relate to provider supervision and medical oversight.

Requirements

Who we're looking for:

  • You are a graduate of an approved medical school, BC/BE in either internal medicine or family medicine.
  • You possess an active and unrestrictive Arizona Medical License & DEA.
  • You maintain full-time residence in the State of Arizona.
  • You are credentialed with AHCCCS and major health insurance plans.
  • You have experience supervising or collaborating with Physician Assistants or Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • You have a strong understanding of inclusive, trauma-informed, and affirming care for 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.
  • You have excellent communication and mentorship skills.
