Legal Proofreader (Federal Agencies - Remote)

PLEASE NOTE: This job ad is for federal contracts and transcription candidates who have passed a federal background check utilizing e-QIP or eAPP within the last 3 years. As a Legal Proofreader, your exceptional listening skills and unwavering commitment to accuracy will play a pivotal role in transforming recorded legal proceedings into flawless written documents. CRC Salomon is proud to have many large, long-term projects, affording our legal proofreading team the volume and stability they desire working for our federal, state, and local clients. We are looking for proofreaders who have experience with different federal agencies such as DOJ-EOIR, SSA, DOS, etc. and request being able to commit at least 20 physical hours per week.

Candidate Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Availability to commit at least 20 physical hours per week
  • Minimum of 3 years’ legal industry proofreading experience
  • Ability to ensure all transcripts meet or surpass 98% accuracy with strong attention to detail and research capabilities as well as exceptional listening skills for verbatim transcription
  • Exceptional written communication skills (proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar)
  • Working knowledge of legal formatting requirements such as Bluebook OR any style guide such as GPO, GAO, Chicago, AP, etc.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word 2013 or newer
