We do not require special schooling or a college degree for this job and you will be fully trained by United. As a flight attendant, you will enjoy travel privileges that allow you to fly around the world on United and bring your loved ones along. The position offers outstanding benefits including a 401(k), health/dental/vision insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan for you and your family. You will receive paid time off for sick and vacation days. The starting hourly flight pay is $28.88/hour, with the potential to reach $67.11/hour based on seniority, language skills, lead positions, and international trips. Training is comprehensive, beginning with a 6.5-week program in Houston, TX, where you will learn United's safety and customer service standards. Upon successful completion of training, you will be welcomed aboard as a full-time employee and assigned to one of our seven hubs. United provides a $140/week per diem, along with accommodations, breakfast, and lunch during training. As a flight attendant, you will ensure the highest levels of safety, engage with customers positively, and be flexible to fulfill reserve assignments on short notice, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will work independently and as part of a team to create memorable experiences for every customer, every flight, every day.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest levels of safety during flights.
  • Engage with customers through outstanding interpersonal skills and resolve issues with understanding and compassion.
  • Adapt to different types of customer-facing scenarios with a positive demeanor.
  • Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and be available for global assignments 24/7.
  • Serve and/or sell food and beverages in a professional manner.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide excellent service.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • High school graduate or GED; 2 or more years of college preferred.
  • At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently; proficiency in a second language is highly desirable.
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull beverage carts.
  • Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining prior to expiration.
  • Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
  • Professional appearance and excellent grooming standards.
