Full job description

Position Overview:

Chello is seeking a passionate and talented Fashion Designer with a keen eye for feminine, elegant women's apparel. This role is perfect for a creative individual who understands the Chello brand’s vision of empowering women through refined and timeless fashion. The ideal candidate has a strong design background, a deep understanding of fabrics and production processes, and the ability to translate concepts into beautiful, wearable designs.

 


Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

  • Conceptualize, sketch, and develop collections that reflect Chello's feminine and elegant aesthetic.
  • Conduct research on fashion trends, customer preferences, and market demands to create commercially viable designs.
  • Select fabrics, trims, and materials that align with the brand’s quality and design standards.
  • Create seamless patterns.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the creative, marketing, and production teams to ensure cohesive storytelling across campaigns and collections.
  • Collaborate with factories and suppliers to ensure accurate execution of designs.
  • Partner with the ecommerce and marketing teams to highlight product features and unique selling points.

Sampling & Production:

  • Oversee the development of prototypes and ensure timely delivery of samples.
  • Conduct fit sessions and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired silhouette and functionality.
  • Ensure designs meet quality standards and align with customer expectations.

Trend Analysis & Innovation:

  • Stay updated on fashion and textile trends, especially in feminine and elegant styles.
  • Innovate and bring fresh ideas to the table while maintaining the brand’s core identity.
  • Monitor competitor offerings and identify opportunities for differentiation.

Brand Alignment:

  • Ensure all designs are in harmony with Chello’s vision of empowering women through elegant and versatile fashion.
  • Uphold the brand’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and mindful design.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Diploma or degree in fashion design or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in designing women’s apparel, with a strong portfolio showcasing feminine and elegant designs. We welcome fresh grad too.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D).
  • Creativity: Strong ability to conceptualize and translate ideas into wearable fashion.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of fabrics, pattern-making, and garment construction.
  • Aesthetic Sensibility: Exceptional taste and eye for feminine and timeless styles.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to design, sampling, and production.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with teams and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a women’s fashion brand with a focus on elegant styles.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and ethical design practices.
  • Understanding of the Southeast Asian fashion market and customer preferences.
