Part of AWS Marketing – Global Brand Partnerships, the Global Sponsorship program creates strategic, ROI generating sponsorship opportunities for AWS Partners and customers. Our program is designed to support companies in growing their business with AWS and our customers. Sponsorship opportunities are offered globally across a variety of marketing programs. The Global Sponsorship program is designed to engage customers with quality sponsor developed content, education, and networking; deliver sponsors partner shared leads and ROI; optimize revenue cost recovery for AWS Marketing; and execute a sponsorship program that is aligned to the AWS Partner Organization business. We design sponsorship programs with equal focus on our four goals. AWS Marketing events with sponsorship programs include re:Invent, re:Inforce, Commercial and Public Sector Summits, industry events, third-party programs, executive marketing events, and field programs.

The Sponsorship Operations Manager brings expertise in process and project management, and operational rigor to sponsored programs across the AWS Marketing event portfolio. In this role, the Sponsorship Operations Manager defines processes and maintains relationships with stakeholders across Accounts Receivable, Tax, and related teams on a day-to-day basis. They also work with sponsorship program managers and interface with the operations tools leader and event technology teams where our tools intersect with process and people management.

They are responsible for the implementation of processes, planning, on-site operations, and post-event reporting requirements. Successful team members step seamlessly into a corporate event and partner marketing (sponsorship) environment, have strong organizational skills, ability to work across multiple teams and cultures, demonstrate impeccable customer service, feels comfortable working in an ambiguous environment, and are energetically driven to meet the needs of stakeholders and the team.

Key job responsibilities

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Obtain tax, legal, and finance approvals for sponsorship programs
  • Own relationships with key business stakeholders including Accounts Receivable, Contracting & Invoicing, Event Technology, Tax, and Portal team in an effort to drive efficiencies and standardize processes across the sponsorship team
  • Align with business stakeholders on shared collaboration tools and interdependencies that ensures the seamless queuing of reports related to contracting, invoicing, and accounts receivable payments
  • Own accuracy of event reporting for internal groups including by not limited to revenue, lead, and partner counts
  • Construct and frequently audit the reports stemming from Workfront, Zendesk, and other sponsorship tools to identify opportunities for simplification

Project and Process Management

  • Automates processes and design optimal workflow to reduce manual tasks of how multiple tools interface and work in unison
  • Builds strategy, mechanisms, workflow, and tool design that considers the entire sponsor life cycle interfacing with our tools from post-sale through execution to delivery
  • Conducts tool and process audits to ensure tasks, specs, and copy in ERC are continuously simplified for sponsoring partners
  • Initiates modernization projects where new processes can be implemented to automate internal and external workflows and reduce data manipulation. Establishes and implements mechanisms and automations to optimize the collection of sponsor deliverables, track submissions, approval status for internal and agency reporting
  • Owns developing mechanisms and processes to ensure lead retrieval deal points are fulfilled; works with vendor partner to ensure proper configuration of devices; represents sponsorship onsite at events for lead retrieval vendor management
  • Document sponsor lead reporting configuration and distribution
  • Create mechanisms and processes for how Resource Hub articles are authored and posted to platform to support tool education and sponsor ease-of-use

Tool Coordination and Support

  • Tool coordinator and acts as a system support administrator in Airtable, RainFocus (ERC and Lead retrieval modules), Workfront, and Zendesk (Resource Hub)
  • Ensure tools are optimized for post-event reporting, and ownership ensuring data accuracy for post-event analytics
  • Support in the establishment of processes and mechanisms for implementation of an exhibitor resource center (ERC), including task publication, and sponsor additions and removals
  • Works with program managers and collaborates with the operations tool roadmap lead and event technology team to deploy new tool features and processes aligned to the roadmap

Basic Qualifications

  • * 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • * 5+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • * Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • * Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • * Experience managing budgets ($5M+)
