Familia Dental is seeking part-time Front Desk Receptionists for our Coldwater office in Fort Wayne, IN. As a Front Desk Receptionist, your primary responsibility will be to effectively and efficiently check in patients, verify insurance eligibility, confirm and/or reschedule appointments, and collect payments for services provided. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, and your role is crucial in ensuring a positive experience from the moment they enter our office. You will be expected to greet and check in patients, answer phone calls, schedule appointments, maintain patient accounts and records, and understand insurance plan rules and protocols. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate patience and sensitivity to patient emotions, listen to patients and healthcare workers, and follow directions from the Dentist or supervisor. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in ensuring all record-keeping requirements are met and that claims are submitted accurately to insurance companies. We are looking for individuals who can attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular office meetings, while also adhering to company policies and procedures. Understanding and following HIPAA regulations, as well as state and Federal OSHA laws, is critical to maintaining confidentiality and ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff. Other tasks may be assigned as needed, and flexibility in scheduling is important as you may be required to work Saturdays when needed, with shifts varying from half-day to full-day.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients
  • Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
  • Maintain patient accounts and records
  • Understand and follow insurance plan rules and protocols
  • Demonstrate patience and sensitivity to patient emotions
  • Listen to patients and healthcare workers and follow directions from a Dentist or supervisor
  • Verify patient's insurance
  • Ensure all record-keeping requirements are fully and accurately completed
  • Submit claims to insurance companies
  • Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns
  • Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular office meetings
  • Follow company policy and procedures
  • Understand and follow HIPAA regulations, state and Federal OSHA laws and safety standards, and maintain confidentiality
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer/patient service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand information and effectively present information one-on-one with patients
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details written or verbally instructed
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Experience with dental management software is preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment

  • Requires excellent customer service skills
  • Previous dental office or receptionist experience preferred but not required.
